Cocobolo is Canopy Development Company’s first beach community. In partnership with its sister development, Canopy Venao, Cocobolo seeks to develop a living system of wellness for the land and its people.

Cocobolo serves as a gateway to the Canopy wilderness area, which is restoring the most unique and endangered ecosystem on the planet - the tropical dry forest.

Multiple regeneration initiatives are underway, including developing innovative food systems, securing a clean watershed, and establishing an 80 km biological corridor with a massive regional economic impact, allowing residents and our broader community to be nourished by the land it restores.

Playa Venao is full of incredible life forms, from the critically endangered spider monkey to both whale migrations from the North and South. Restoring the health of the land restores the health of all life here, creating systemic wellness for us all.
